Miti ("we," "us," "our") is a hyper-local services marketplace app. This
page explains what information Miti collects, why, and how it's used. We
only collect what's needed to make the app work — Miti does not run
advertising, does not use analytics or tracking tools, and does not sell
your data to anyone.
Information we collect
- Phone number — used to sign you in (via a one-time
code sent by SMS or WhatsApp) and, if you list a business, shown to
people who want to contact you.
- Email address — only if you choose to sign in with
email instead of a phone number.
- Name and general location (e.g. neighborhood or
town) — provided by you when you set up your profile.
- Precise location (GPS coordinates) — captured only
when you take a photo of a sign inside the app, or when you choose to
set a location manually, so listings can be shown to people nearby.
Location access is optional and only used for this purpose.
- Photos — photos you take or choose of service signs,
used to create listings. These photos are stored and shown publicly as
part of the listing.
How we use this information
- To create your account and verify your phone number or email.
- To create and display service listings, including the business name,
phone number, category, and photo.
- To let other users contact a listed business by phone or WhatsApp.
- To verify a business owner's phone number when they claim a listing
as their own.
- To read the text on a submitted sign photo (business name, phone
number, trade) using an AI image-processing service, so a listing can be
created automatically.
Sharing with service providers
Miti uses a small number of third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and
photo storage.
- Twilio — sends verification codes by SMS or
WhatsApp.
- Anthropic — processes sign photos to extract listing
details (business name, phone number, category).
These providers only receive the information needed to perform their
specific function and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We do not sell or share your information with advertisers or data
brokers.
What's public
Business listings — including the business name, category, phone
number, general location, and sign photo — are publicly visible to
anyone using the app, including people who are not signed in. This is
core to how Miti works: it's a public directory of services. Your
personal account details (email, precise account settings) are not
shown publicly.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you
want your account or a listing deleted, contact us using the details
below and we'll remove it.
Children's privacy
Miti is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone
under 18.
